Payment Product Specialist
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic Payment Product Specialist to join our team and contribute to the strategic direction and execution of our payments roadmap across Hero Gaming Group. You will play a key role in optimising the payment experience across multiple brands and markets by ensuring seamless integrations, high acceptance rates, and efficient payment operations.
This role bridges the gap between internal teams and external providers, involving technical coordination, data-driven optimisation, and ongoing product development support.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse payment performance and user behaviour, identifying trends and inconsistencies to improve acceptance rates and optimise the user journey.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and PSPs for the integration and launch of new payment methods and providers.
- Fine-tune payment gateway configurations, routing logic, and risk settings to maximise performance and minimise friction.
- Conduct end-to-end testing and quality assurance for new and existing payment solutions.
- Own the resolution of technical escalations by coordinating with providers, support teams, and internal departments.
- Gather feedback from Customer Support, Payments, and Risk teams to suggest product improvements and assist the Product Team in prioritisation.
- Maintain and manage relationships with PSPs, monitor performance, and oversee transaction-related issue resolution.
- Keep up-to-date documentation on payment flows, limits, provider specs, and customer-facing elements.
- Support onboarding of new payment providers by collecting and verifying necessary documents (KYB, Due Diligence, etc.).
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable improvements.
- Solid understanding of the online payments ecosystem, including gateways, acquirers, PSPs, and risk controls.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a technical environment.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Team-oriented with a helpful attitude and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working in iGaming or high-risk industries.
- Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, and other product management tools.
- Experience in multi-market payments strategies and localisation.
- Technical understanding of APIs and payment integration flows.
- Experience with PaymentIQ
